Qingdao, Shandong province held a themed event to promote quality construction in the city on Sept 28 in Chengyang district.

According to Qingdao officials, the city has always attached great importance to quality construction, with specific measures taken to promote the implementation of the urban quality construction and brand construction strategy.

Qingdao ranks first in Shandong with the most Chinese quality awards and nomination awards, and the Qingdao quality infrastructure public service platform was selected as the first batch of "one-stop" service typical cases by the State Administration for Market Regulation.

This year, 26 brands in Qingdao were included into the first batch of the "Shandong Excellent Products" list, and 89 Qingdao-based enterprises were selected as high-end brand cultivation enterprises in the province. The city has ranked first in the province for three consecutive years for public service quality monitoring and rating.

National Quality Infrastructure (NQI) is key to improving the quality of a country's development. NQI, which focuses on measurement, standards, certification and accreditation, and inspection and testing, has become the core element and strategic resource globally, according to industry experts.

Since this year, Qingdao has been working hard to build online and offline quality infrastructure public service platforms. The National Quality Infrastructure (Qingdao) Headquarters Base, which is one of such platforms, is located in Chengyang district. In 2021, there were 270 NQI industrial enterprises in Chengyang, with the total output value of the whole industrial chain exceeding 10 billion yuan ($1.4 billion).
