The nighttime economy has become a buzz word in China as many cities have beefed up efforts to boost the nighttime economy and promote consumption, with steps to encourage post-dusk business activities and later closing hours at museums and art galleries.

Jimo district in Qingdao, Shandong province is also working to bolster the nighttime economy.

The Haishanghai Mall in Jimo is a sizable commercial complex that integrates dining, drinking, entertainment, shopping, and other activities. The mall has gained popularity as a go-to place for customers to spend time at night by establishing an all-in-one entertainment area.

In order to boost the nighttime economy, the shopping mall has further established late-night restaurants, convenience stores, and bookstores, and movie theaters and fitness centers have extended their business hours.
