Intl sailing week, marine festival comes to an end in Qingdao
The 10-day Qingdao International Sailing Week and Qingdao International Marine Festival came to an end in the eastern coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province on Aug 14.

The closing ceremony was held on the evening of Aug 14 at the Olympic Sailing Center, which was attended by government officials, representatives of sailing competition partners, athletes, and referees.
According to Qingdao officials, the annual sailing festival is designed to create a sailing arena with passion, a platform for fashionable sports that provide health benefits, and an urban carnival where diverse marine cultures gather and blend, so as to contribute to the city's efforts in building "a vibrant ocean city and a wonderful and pleasant city".

More than 50 activities were held during the sailing carnival, such as sailing competitions, sports promotions, cultural exchanges, as well as business and trade transactions and marine tourism promotions to boost the sport of sailing and the city's sports industry.
The Qingdao Sailing Jet Ski Maritime Tourism Alliance was unveiled at the closing ceremony, which marked an important step in the standardized development of Qingdao's maritime tourism.
The adorable "Ao Fan Fan", the mascot of the Olympic sailing marine culture tourism area in Qingdao, was also unveiled. It will become a promotional envoy to showcase the charm of Qingdao, which is also known as the "sailing capital of China".
