The 2022 RCEP International Industrial Cooperation Summit was recently held in Qingdao, Shandong province to advance economic and trade ties under the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement.

The RCEP agreement, the world's largest free-trade deal to date, came into force on Jan 1. Since then, it has brought tangible dividends to economic and trade cooperation between China and its regional partners.

Experts and scholars in the field of commerce and trade, heads of scientific and technological innovation enterprises and government officials attended the summit. They discussed how sci-tech enterprises should reconstruct the industrial chain, supply chain and value chain under RCEP policies to help raise regional science and innovation collaboration to a higher level.

The RCEP National Science and Technology Park Alliance was launched at the summit, which will further enrich RCEP's industrial ecology and help build a regional collaborative science and technology innovation community.

Qingdao has been ramping up efforts to seize the opportunities brought by the implementation of RCEP and explore new room for international cooperation, according to local officials.
