Qingdao to fuel cultural, tourism development
Qingdao recently launched guidelines to promote the high-quality development of cultural and tourism industries, which have been hit hard during the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the guidelines, the added value of Qingdao's cultural industry is expected to reach 100 billion yuan ($14.88 billion) by 2025, with an average annual growth rate of 10 percent.
Efforts will be made to promote the integrated development of culture, tourism and related industries, further enrich the supply of cultural tourism products and services, and stimulate the consumption potential of this sector.
The city will intensify efforts to expand key areas such as the film and television industry, music performances, creative design, digital cultural tourism, marine tourism, and integrated tourism.
It will build three to five national and provincial night culture and tourism consumption agglomeration areas within three years to spur the nighttime economy.
Qingdao will work to unleash its cultural and tourism consumption potential, with efforts to deepen supply-side reform in cultural and tourism industries. It will develop more diverse cultural and tourism products, including various art performances and activities in leisure agriculture.
The city will encourage the establishment of digital art exhibition and trading platforms, and support cultural property rights and copyright trading platforms to expand local enterprises' business.
It will build a platform for cultural and tourism integration in Jiaodong Economic Circle and strengthen regional cooperation.
