CRRC Qingdao Sifang provides air springs for European trains
A subsidiary of CRRC Qingdao Sifang Rolling Stock Research Institute Co has successively obtained multiple air spring purchase orders from Alstom, a French multinational rolling stock manufacturer.
According to CRRC Qingdao Sifang, the air springs will be used in European high-end railway projects such as Spain's High Capacity electric commuter train and Belgium's M7 electric train.
Air springs are an important part of a train's suspension system. They are installed between the train body and the bogie, which can reduce the vibration generated while the train is operating, and make the ride more comfortable for travelers. The springs also ensure that the train body can always maintain a consistent platform height under various load conditions.
The acquisition of the order from Alstom demonstrates the technical strength of Qingdao manufacturing enterprises, a manager from CRRC Qingdao Sifang said.
