The event will primarily consist of a cartoon image collection, an opening ceremony, an evaluation of excellent drama performances, and an awards ceremony.
Shinan will begin a series of activities focused on plays and operas in June, with 16 high-quality productions being staged in Qingdao, according to preliminary information.
In 2022, Shinan will also hold the 4th China Art Fair and continue to introduce more high-quality art forums, exhibitions and performances.
The International Drama Theatre Award (Acting Award), which was established by the Central Academy of Drama in 2011, is known as the "Oscars" in the Chinese theater industry. It takes place every two years and draws over 200 academies from Russia, the United Kingdom, Japan, Italy, and Ukraine. Qingdao was chosen as the permanent location for the event in 2019.
The International Drama Theatre Award (Acting Award) will serve as a platform for Qingdao to gather talents from home and aboard, attract more tourists and further promote Qingdao's culture and art businesses.
