The air quality report for 2021 was recently released by Qingdao West Coast New Area (WCNA), indicating that the air quality in WCNA has greatly improved.

The date report shows that the annual concentration of PM2.5, which refers to particulate matter with a diameter of 2.5 micrometers or less, has lessened to 30 micrograms per cubic meters, a year-on-year decrease of 9 percent.

There were 308 days with good air quality, accounting for 84.4 percent of all days. There were no other days with heavy pollution, a reduction of five days from the same period in 2021.

Despite severe sandstorms in the spring of 2021, Qingdao WCNA achieved a significant increase in the number of days with good air quality and the absence of days with high pollution levels.

The optimization of the industrial structure, energy structure, transportation structure, and land use structure is credited with the amazing outcomes of air quality achievement in Qingdao WCNA.
