Street culture and art festival kicks off in Qingdao
The annual street culture and art festival kicked off in the eastern hub of Qingdao, Shandong province on June 20 as part of efforts to enrich the public's cultural life as well as celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
The festival has been held every year since 2013. This year, performances featuring the histories of the Party, New China, the reform and opening-up, and socialist development will be highlighted to carry forward the Party's revolutionary spirit, said the organizers.
Popular bands and singers have been invited to perform in order to attract more people and inject vitality to the night life of the city.
The festival will run until the end of October. Performances will be staged every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 7 pm to 8 pm in the city's coastal areas, pedestrian streets and other venues.
