Qingdao Meijin New Energy Automobile Manufacturing Co recently obtained a new energy commercial vehicle production qualification, making it the first company in Qingdao to receive such a qualification.

The company's new energy commercial vehicle manufacturing center started construction in the Qingdao West Coast New Area in April 2020, and it went into production within just nine months.

The center's main products include passenger cars, light trucks, medium trucks, and heavy trucks, with an initial annual output of 5,000 new energy commercial vehicles.

Obtaining the new energy commercial vehicle production qualification will boost project development and facilitate the local development of a hydrogen automobile industry and urban transportation, said local officials.

The new energy commercial vehicle manufacturing center is an important part of the Qingdao Meijin Hydrogen Energy Technology Park and has received a total investment of 11.5 billion yuan ($1.75 billion).

According to local officials, the Qingdao West Coast New Area will launch more measures and policies to attract more leading auto enterprises and boost the local hydrogen car industry.
