Qingdao promotes cultural and tourism economy
The coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province, has launched a four-month promotional event to tap culture and tourism consumption potential during the winter months.
According to local officials, the city will lower ticket prices at local scenic spots. Co-branded cards have also been launched to offer discounts and perks for tourists.

Special offers for targeted travel routes, destinations, art performances and cultural products will also be available.
Qingdao's municipal bureau of culture and tourism has recommended 13 themed tourism routes in the city to meet the needs of different groups. These travel packages cover study tours, marine sightseeing, museums, winter spas and more.

The city's scenic spots, public cultural venues and entertainment facilities will also launch a dazzling array of festive activities to celebrate upcoming festivals and entertain tourists.
"The cultural and tourism industries play a vital role in promoting employment and driving consumption, as well as propelling local economic development," said a Qingdao official, who added that the city would continue its efforts to fuel the culture and tourism market and provide a better experience to tourists.
