The 2020 "Discover Qingdao" orienteering challenge, an urban running activity, will kick off on Aug 30.

In addition to 26 daytime race routes, the event also will launch 10 night routes to engage more participants.

The organizing committee has included nearly 200 of the city's most distinguished landmarks along the routes, including popular scenic spots, commercial blocks and cultural and historical sites.

Participants will visit the city's 24-hour book stores, bars, gyms, cultural salons, night markets and other popular attractions along the night routes.

Besides showcasing a modern and fashionable city image of Qingdao, the event also aims to enrich people's lives and promote fitness.

The event's namesake topic has been launched on the short video streaming platform Douyin, where participants can share short videos of the city's charming scenery.
