Construction is underway on the Komatsu Global Intelligent Manufacturing Industry Base in the Jining High-tech Zone, which will be the sole factory in China to produce hydraulic excavators from 6 to 50 metric tons.

Jining has emerged as a hub for construction machinery, hosting 25 percent of Shandong province's above-scale enterprises in the industry and boasting a local support rate of 60 percent in 2023.

Komatsu Machinery Manufacturing (Shandong) Co Ltd sources approximately 50 percent of its products locally, benefitting from Jining's well-established regional supply chain.
