Spring Festival tourism market booms in Jining
During the Spring Festival period, the Jining city bureau of culture and tourism organized traditional Chinese New Year activities such as intangible cultural heritage performances, temple fairs, lantern festivals, and New Year blessings at major scenic spots, offering visitors a joyful and lively holiday experience.
Statistics show that Jining received more than 3.47 million visitors at its 22 key monitored scenic spots during the Spring Festival holiday period, generating more than 140 million yuan ($19.4 million) in revenue.
The city is ramping up efforts to enrich cultural tourism products and stimulate the consumer market. Earlier, the city released the top 10 winter hotspots and the New Year tourist routes. Key scenic spots across the city have launched 143 new sightseeing areas, activities and business models, with a focus on cultural tourism, folk tourism and night tourism.
During the Spring Festival holiday, the culture and tourism departments at the city and county levels in Jining jointly issued consumer vouchers totaling 2.05 million yuan for scenic spots, hotels and bookstores, among other places, while 21 4A-level or above scenic spots offered free tickets or discounts of 20-80 percent.
The Jining Library, the Confucius Museum and Jining Museum have held a series of activities such as reading sessions and New Year celebrations; the Jining Cultural Center launched the Shandong province "Beautiful Yellow River" Mass Art Calligraphy Exhibition; and various cultural and museum venues in counties and districts hosted a variety of cultural performances, experiences and exhibitions.
