Yutai county's Huihe Wetland has recently witnessed an influx of investment of 30 million yuan ($4.22 million) aimed at the preservation of its intricate ecosystem while developing educational facilities, offering visitors an enthralling journey through this diverse natural wonder.

Spread across 550 hectares within the experimental zone west of Nansihu Lake Nature Reserve, Menglou Island, the project's crowning achievement completed in June adds to the thriving lush green tableau. This enchanting sanctuary of reeds and birds has further enhanced the wetland's flourishing landscape.

The ambitious initiative, marked by the plantation of over 2,800 trees and 60,000 flowers, also featured the installation of informative display boards, docking points, protective stations, and birdwatching corridors. Boasting hundreds of bird species, numerous aquatic lifeforms native to Nansihu Lake, and an array of diverse flora, including Chinese fir, willow, Chinese tallow, locust, and golden locust trees, the wetland now stands as a testament to life's diversity.

This project has created a connected water ecosystem, improving the water quality and boosting the ecological stability of the lakeside environment. It has fostered a harmonious coexistence of thriving aquatic plants, forestlands, fish, and bird populations, forming a stunning ecological tapestry.

Immersed in verdant vegetation and serenaded by the soothing song of birds, visitors to Huihe Wetland can now revel in a truly beautiful ecological encounter. With an unwavering dedication to the protection and ecological harmony, the wetland aspires to become a paragon of environmental equilibrium, celebrating the peaceful coexistence between humans and nature.
