Expats experience traditional Chinese culture in Jining
An activity jointly organized by the Publicity Department of the Jining Municipal Party Committee and Qilu Evening News kicked off in Qufu, a county-level city of Jining, Shandong province, introducing the city's culture to some expats.
A total of six international students, Basit Abdul, Shafiq Ur Rahman, Suliman Khan, Zahid Muhammad, Mulaw Tinsae Worku and Gebremariam Haben Guesh from Jining Medical College, learned more about Jining's culture by experiencing traditional skills.
Gebremariam Haben Guesh, from Ethiopia, failed to control the strength when making rubbings at first. However, she finally mastered the know-how and made it with the help of professionals.
They also learned the profound tea culture in a tea room. From washing tea to making tea, the master teacher explained everything carefully, step by step. "Only two-thirds of a cup of tea is poured, and the rest is friendship. If the tea is poured full, it will be disrespectful," said the master.

In this way, the foreign students understood both the steps of making tea and the associated etiquette.
In addition, they attended shooting classes, where they showed great potential in shooting under the guidance of teachers.
After studying professional courses, they were deeply interested in traditional Chinese culture and hoped to attend more activities in the future.
