Jining in East China's Shandong province has carried out 126 key reform and innovation initiatives this year, unleashing a driving force for the city's high-quality development, Dazhong Daily reported.
This year, local authorities have drawn up two maps of local companies' research and development demands and nationwide technological results distribution to bridge cooperation between companies and research institutes.
"We match the two maps by using digital technologies to facilitate cooperation," said Liang Chenguang, a senior official at Jining's science and technology bureau.
"For those unmatched projects, we will continue to search for solutions globally," Liang added. "For those that match, the Jining government will offer a variety of financial support."
Within a year, 32 projects including those of Shantui Construction Machinery Co and Cisen Pharmaceutical Co have achieved technological breakthroughs by cooperating with national key laboratories and renowned universities, and several research results have been put into industrial use.
In addition, local authorities have issued the "innovation maps" of seven industries including high-end equipment, new materials and electronic information, which have collected 535 technological company demands and 259 generic industrial technological demands and 1,131 technological achievements from over 150 domestic and foreign universities.
A total of 141 cooperation agreements have been signed, with a combined research and development investment of 2.34 billion yuan ($347 million).
