The 12th Shandong Provincial Congress of the Communist Party of China opened in the provincial capital Jinan on May 28. 

Members of the Jining delegation to the congress discussed a report delivered by Li Ganjie, Party chief of Shandong province, at its opening session.

Lin Hongyu, Party chief of Jining, said that the report is inspiring and Jining officials will apply the spirit of the report to promote the city's scientific and technological innovation, the development of manufacturing and logistics sectors, and achieve shared prosperity in both urban and rural areas.

Yu Yongsheng, mayor of Jining, agreed with Lin's proposal, stating that the local government will make every effort to ensure the economic stability in Jining, boost advanced manufacturing, cultivate more market entities and guarantee the smooth progress of key projects in the city.

Gao Yonggan, Party secretary of Wenshang county, said that the local authority will speed up transforming old economic drivers into new ones and enhance the county-level economy. The county will also accelerate agricultural and rural modernization and become a model of rural vitalization in the province.

Zhang Min, general manager of Jining-based Shantui Construction Machinery Co, highlighted the report's proposal on manufacturing. He said that the company will increase investment in research and development to strengthen its core competitiveness in engineering machinery, new-energy products and smart construction technology.
