Geography
Sishui county is located in mid-southern Shandong province near the southern foot of Taiyi mountains. It's west of Pingyi, east of Qufu, north of Zoucheng, and south of Xintai.
Rihe (Rizhao-Heze) Railway, national road 327, Rihe (Rizhao-Heze) Expressway and national road 034 pass through the county. Rizhao Port, Jingfu (Beijing-Fuzhou) Expressway, and Jining Qufu Airport form a three-dimensional traffic network. The county's highway is 664.5 kilometers long, and its national and provincial highways cover 90 km.
Culture
Sishui county is the birthplace of Sihe culture and has a long history. Sishui was the state of Bianming in the Shang Dynasty (c.16th century-11th century BC), Bianyi city in the Zhou Dynasty (c.11th century-256 BC) and Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC). Sishui county was established during the Sui Dynasty (581-618).
Economy
During the first three quarters of 2021, the county's GDP increased by 9.6 percent, ranking 12th among districts, county-level cities and counties in Jining. The fixed-asset investment increased by 9.1 percent. The food and beverage industry generated 4.11 billion yuan ($646.09 million) in revenue, up 16.82 percent year-on-year. That of paper packaging, high-end equipment and biomedical industries increased by 20.52 percent, 73.17 percent and 44.4 percent respectively to 1.18 billion yuan, 872 million yuan and 209 million yuan.
