Qufu, a county-level city in Jining, is traditionally regarded as the birthplace of Confucius, the great thinker and educator in ancient China. It has attracted numerous foreigners interested in studying Confucianism.
Founded in 1955, Qufu Normal University has carried forward and elevated the fine tradition of Confucianism, witnessing the modern development of the ancient philosophy.
The university established its College of International Education in 2011 and has since taught more than 2,000 students from countries like the United States, Russia, as well as Tajikistan.
