Jining adds new park to delight residents
Jining in East China's Shandong province has opened a new large park, which is named Moon Garden, on the border of the city's Rencheng district and Taibai Lake new area.
The park, which opened to the public on June 27, is equipped with various facilities, such as basketball courts, football fields, walkways, playgrounds, as well as fitness spaces. It has 140,000 square meters of green areas, making up 63 percent of the whole park.
Moon Garden is the first large park in the southwestern part of Jining, said He Taiping, who is in charge of the construction of the project. He added that the park connects with the scenic areas along the Grand Canal in Rencheng district and Taibai Lake new area, forming a wide-ranging natural landscape area around the canal.
The park is expected to provide a leisure and recreational space for more than 200,000 residents at 13 nearby communities.
Liu Lei, a Jining resident who has visited Moon Garden, said that the fully equipped park is an ideal place to do exercise and other entertainment activities.
