Jining in East China's Shandong province has set up various flower decorations at its major intersections and parks to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.

According to Zhang Jian, an official from the city's landscaping authority, Jining plans to adorn six themed floral terraces. For example, the flower bed at the southwest corner of Hongxing Middle Road and Gongqingtuan Road is titled "A journey of 100 years" and uses Chinese folding screens as its main element.

The flower bed at Baihua Park employs auspicious clouds, butterflies, and the Party emblem as its main elements to present a scene of prosperity. Flowers grown in the terrace include begonias and balsams.

Jining will plant and display over 2,600 square meters of flowers this year to beautify the city, as well as to create a festive atmosphere, said Zhang.
