Jining waives administrative fees for construction programs
Jining in East China's Shandong province has waived administrative examination and approval fees for construction programs, as well as streamlined procedures in an effort to further improve its business environment.
A total of 249 construction programs have benefited from the policy since 2020. It now takes 60 less days on average and is free of charge to finish the administrative process for a project, according to Shao Shuai, department manager at Shandong Jingda Science and Technology Co. The company, which is based in Jining National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, is currently building a new materials production base.
In the past, a company would have to go to a number of government departments, as well as spend two to three months and nearly 2 million yuan (around $300,000) to complete assessments of a project's environmental effect, energy consumption, and other matters before starting construction.
Jining has also made extensive efforts to improve its administrative services. A series of examination and approval services for construction programs are now processed as a whole by the Jining bureau of administrative services, said Chen Hengbin, deputy director of the bureau.
The bureau has set up a special section and developed an online application platform to improve work efficiency, as well as to help companies finish all required procedures at one stop, Chen added.
