Jining Cultural Center wins top construction prize

Jining Cultural Center, which is located in Taibai Lake New District of the city, won the Luban Prize, China's top award in construction and engineering, for its excellent quality, according to a recent announcement by the China Construction Industry Association.
The cultural center, spanning a total area of 13.57 hectares, consists of a library, a museum, an art gallery, a cultural hall, and a highland park. All of the venues are currently open to the public to provide more cultural opportunities and boost further development of the city's cultural industry.
The library has 11 different sections and provides various kinds of books, journals, newspapers, academic essays, as well as digital services. People with visual disabilities can also enjoy themselves in a special section designed for them.
Jining Museum now features five permanent exhibitions, which are themed around the city's history, stone carving art, the Grand Canal, and its cultural relics.
The art gallery, which has a roof shaped like a lotus leaf, boasts many traditional Chinese paintings and calligraphy works on display.

In addition, a cultural industrial park is scheduled to complete construction by the end of 2021. Upon completion, the center will become a multifunctional complex where people can admire culture, do scientific research, and go shopping.
