City introduction

Little Rock is located in the middle of Arkansas on the west bank of the Mississippi River and the south bank of the Arkansas River, and its latitude is similar to Shanghai. On the curve of the Arkansas River, there are rocks protruding from the water, which served as coordinates for early river voyagers, hence the name "Little Rock".

Little Rock is an important political, economic, cultural, and transportation center in the central United States and is the hometown of former US President Clinton. The city covers an area of 7,770 square kilometers and has a population of about 200,000. It ranked the second cleanest city in the United States by Forbes Magazine in 2011.

Little Rock is also an important inland shipping port in the southern United States, as well as a center for business activity. Bauxite production in the south and southwest of the city accounts for more than 90 percent of the country's output, and the state is the only place in the United States to produce natural diamonds. After the Second World War, industry developed rapidly in the city. Some of its main industries include electrical equipment, cottonseed oil, wood processing, chemicals, metal processing, food processing, and clothing. It is home to multiple universities, including the University of Arkansas.
