The secondary school affiliated to Jining College is located in the hometown of Confucius and Mencius, on the banks of the Grand Canal.

Adhering to the precepts of the Confucian culture which spans thousands of years, the school has absorbed the essence of the canal culture and formed its own distinct cultural characteristics.

Its predecessor was Yangfangxiang Primary School, which was founded in 1952.

The school's main campus is located at No 9, Taibailou Middle Road, Rencheng district, Jining.

There are 447 in-service faculty members and 145 senior teachers in the attached middle school, branch campus and south campus. At present, there are 16 provincial teaching experts, 76 municipal teaching experts, 76 provincial high-quality course teachers and 145 municipal high-quality course teachers. The school has trained four renowned teachers in Qilu, four special teachers at the provincial and municipal levels, three leading teachers in Xingtan, nine leaders in disciplines in Jining, 15 backbone teachers in Jining and three senior teachers.

The school has 36 laboratories -- for physics, chemistry, or biology – as well as 30 scientific instrument rooms. It also comes equipped with a computer room, multimedia classroom, an electronic reading room, a comprehensive practice room, an observatory, a planetarium, an electronic audiovisual library, a television studio and computer room.
