Dongying, a city in East China's Shandong province, has redefined how industry and nature can coexist.
In the Guangli River Forest Wetland Park, the Liuhu Oil Production Management Area of Shengli Oilfield operates beneath the park's lakes and forests, where visitors enjoy tranquil scenery while clean energy production continues underground.

This innovative integration of tourism and industry highlights Dongying's commitment to green, low-carbon development. Through upgraded pipelines, real-time leak detection systems, and noise-reducing, energy-efficient technologies, the city and Shengli Oilfield have built a model where environmental protection and industrial progress advance together.
Aligned with Dongying's zero-waste initiative, the project reuses purified gas as clean energy, fully reinjects treated water underground, and applies long-lasting, maintenance-free pipelines to safeguard the ecosystem. The Liuhu area also serves as an eco-education base, engaging visitors with interactive displays on sustainable energy, pollution prevention, and carbon reduction.
"Cleaner operations and greener surroundings have boosted morale and efficiency," said Li Yongliang, leader of the Liuhu management area.
By merging ecological protection with energy innovation, Dongying is setting a strong example of sustainable growth — proving that economic vitality and environmental protection can thrive side by side.
