The Dongying High-tech Industrial Development Zone – known for short as the Dongying High-tech Zone – is located in Dongying city, in East China's Shandong province.
Established in 2002, it's a key functional area in Dongying's development strategy.

Covering an approved area of 14.97 square kilometers with a total impact zone of 35 square kilometers, it's designed with a "One Zone, Two Parks" layout.
This includes a core area of 11.51 square kilometers, a manufacturing industrial park of 2.62 sq km and an R&D base that occupies 0.84 sq km.
The Dongying High-tech Zone focuses on petroleum technology services and equipment, as well as offshore engineering equipment. It's home to over 500 businesses in these sectors, with the local market accounting for about 30 percent of China's total.

Centered around Shengli Oilfield and China University of Petroleum or UPC, it fosters a dynamic environment for the integration of scientific research and innovation. It boasts 13 academicians, two national-level tech incubators and an invention patent rate of 148 per 10,000 people.
In addition, the upcoming public innovation base for oil and gas exploration and development technology will aim to be the biggest and most authoritative research cluster in the field, serving as a hub for scientific innovation in the oil and gas sector.
