Zhai Yanping, a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) and vice-president of the Rare Earth Catalysis Innovation Research Institute (Dongying) Co, has focused on advancing new energy development and utilization in China during this year's two sessions.
In recent years, Zhai has led her team in researching the application of rare-earth catalytic materials in the automotive industry, contributing significantly to advancements in this field.
Zhai notes that while China's new energy industry has developed rapidly, there are still significant challenges in applying and marketing these technologies, which makes it difficult to meet demand.
She highlights that further improvement in relevant policies and supporting measures should be set to inject new vitality into new energy advancements, commercialization, and industrial growth.
Zhai suggests that relevant departments should enhance top-level design and policy support for the new energy industry. "This can be achieved by establishing a more effective mechanism for transforming research into market-ready products, clarifying processes and guidelines, and creating standards that align with innovation and market needs. This would promote the standardization of technology applications and improve commercialization efficiency," she added.
