Tongjia Grass and Willow Weaving, an intangible cultural heritage of Dongying in East China's Shandong province, is showing its unique charm on a larger stage.
As a traditional skill from the nearby Beisong village, this craft uses environmentally friendly materials like reeds, thatch, wheat straw, and cornhusks. These are woven into practical items like baskets, storage containers, and cushions.
Tongjia Grass and Willow Weaving is not only eco-friendly and pollution-free, but also combines aesthetic appeal with practicality. The villagers of the Yellow River floodplain use these "grassroots" materials to weave their own "green art".
