Dongying city – located in East China's Shandong province – held a conference on Feb 10 that focused on advancing reforms and innovation to drive its high-quality development forwards.
The event summarized progress, recognized achievements and set the tone for a year of growth and more reforms.
As a key year player in implementing the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) and advancing national strategies, Dongying is said to be deepening its reforms across all sectors in order to boost its high-quality development advantages.
In fact, Dongying has placed reforms and innovation at the core of its strategy, continuing to drive the transformation in energy and in industry.
A prime example of this is the rapid expansion of offshore wind power, with the city now a leader in renewable energy – contributing significantly to clean electricity production.

The city is also focusing on the development of a new energy cluster, positioning itself as a leader of modern energy economies.
In addition to renewable energy, Dongying is advancing its ecological protection efforts, such as the creation of the Yellow River Delta National Park and the comprehensive use of saline-alkali lands – all while maintaining a strong focus on industrial upgrades and the digital economy.
