The seventh Lyu Opera Art Exhibition took place on Sept 24-27 in Guangrao county – in Dongying city, in East China's Shandong province – the birthplace of Lyu Opera.
The event brought together 82 professional Lyu Opera actors and musicians over four days – showcasing their extraordinary talent and the unique charm of Lyu Opera.
Five original short plays were performed, highlighting the innovative spirit of Lyu Opera as it evolves.
Top artists visited rural communities to directly entertain the locals – enhancing cultural experiences and fostering a sense of connection.
A seminar provided a platform for experts, scholars and representatives of various troupes to discuss the future of Lyu Opera – contributing valuable insights into the high-quality development of Shandong's theatrical arts.
As a distinctive local art form and a national intangible cultural heritage item, the exhibition in Dongying served not only as a showcase of its achievements – but also as a key platform for promoting its growth and encouraging cultural exchanges.
