Yue Lai Lake Elementary School of Dongying and a weekend Chinese school in Spain held a virtual exchange event to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival on the afternoon of Sept 14.
During the event, both principals shared their schools' educational philosophies, expressing a desire to deepen mutual understanding and friendship through cultural exchange.
The Spanish principal highlighted the experiences of overseas Chinese students and demonstrated the school's respect and enthusiasm for Chinese heritage through efforts such as dragon and lion dances.
Students interacted by screen, with Spanish students performing traditional songs and sharing information about Spanish festivals. Students and teachers from Yue Lai Lake Elementary School of Dongying presented Chinese traditional culture, including making mooncakes and fans and writing the character "团圆" (reunion).
The event concluded with participants wishing each other a "Happy Mid-Autumn Festival" in both Chinese and Spanish as part of their celebrating the holiday and valuing cultural exchange.
This event not only deepened the Spanish students' understanding of Chinese culture but also highlighted Dongying's charm, fostering cultural exchange and strengthening school partnerships.
