A group of Singaporean scholars visited Dongying, East China's Shandong province, on Sept 11 to experience the city's intangible cultural heritage items firsthand.
In Kenli district, they visited the Hongshan Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition and Experience Center, which showcases and sells selected intangible cultural heritage items from Dongying that are distinctive, practical, and nationally recognized. The center received high praise from the guests due to its efforts preserve the local culture.
The guests also visited the Laojie Changxiang Intangible Cultural Heritage Street in Lijin county. This five-kilometer street focuses on intangible heritage and creative industries, with zones dedicated to cultural heritage, flower field camping, and historical culture. The guests praised the street for enhancing Dongying's cultural tourism and supporting the preservation and development of intangible cultural heritage.
They also expressed interest in strengthening cooperation to advance the protection and transmission of intangible cultural heritage.
