Dongying Hongtan Wetland Tourist Area is located in the eastern part of the coastal town in Kenli district, next to Hongguang Fishing Port.
The stunning views offered by the Hongtan Wetland are due to a plant called Suaeda salsa. Every September and October, these plants turn red, turning the wetland into a sprawling crimson carpet.
Covering 1.8 million square meters, this comprehensive resort features Shandong's first container-themed coastal park, with attractions including marine culture, wetland culture, beachcombing, vacation homestays, hot springs, sightseeing, and conference facilities. It was rated a national AAAA-level tourist attraction on Oct 25, 2022.
