Dongying district signs key project agreements in Shanghai

A signing ceremony for key projects in Dongying, East China's Shandong province, was held in Shanghai on Aug 19.

A total of 21 major projects were signed into effect, with a total planned investment of 17.6 billion yuan ($2.47 billion). Dongying district is involved in four of these projects, which have a combined investment of 3.76 billion yuan. The projects focus on high-end chemicals, new energy, modern services, and agriculture, supporting the district's development and high-quality growth.

The superabsorbent polymer (SAP) project, with a 1.1-billion-yuan investment, will produce 600,000 tons of SAP annually for use in medical, oil extraction, construction, and transportation sectors.

The smart energy and multi-energy complementary virtual power plant project, with a 1.34-billion-yuan investment, includes a 40MW/80MWh energy storage system, a 27.03MW photovoltaic project, and a new comprehensive building with an operations center.

The Milan Outlets Plaza project, with a 1.06-billion-yuan investment, will see the development of a commercial complex featuring luxury brands, dining, entertainment, and sports.

The Mawan Watermelon Industrial Park project, with a 260-million-yuan investment, will include a storage center, advanced greenhouses, and a trial base for growing South Chinese fruit in North China.

This signing ceremony marks a major achievement for Dongying district. The projects signed into effect are well-aligned with the district's resources, industrial ecosystem, and development goals.
