Dongying Airport, managed by Shandong Provincial Airport Management Group, set a new record of 4,096 passengers in a single day on Aug 17. The airport also handled 34 flights that day, reflecting increases of 10.7 percent and 6.3 percent, respectively, compared to the same period last year.

Since the start of this summer's travel season, Dongying Airport has seen strong passenger traffic. In July, it handled 876 flights and over 105,600 passengers, a 13.43 percent increase from the previous month. In August, daily passenger numbers have topped 3,70 thus far, with the monthly total expected to exceed 110,000.
To meet passenger demand, Dongying Airport has taken several steps to improve services. These include optimizing flight routes, increasing flight frequency, and enhancing overall quality. Key measures involve coordinating with airlines for larger aircraft, adding staff at self-check-in kiosks to reduce wait times, streamlining baggage handling, and deploying additional staff during peak times to manage passenger flow and maintain order.
