The "Yellow River Estuary Tan Sheep" Food Culture Festival commenced at Jinyuan Plaza in Lijin county, Dongying, East China's Shandong province, on Aug 16.
The event includes a food street and a "Yellow River Estuary Tan Sheep" exhibition area divided into six themed zones. Moreover, a range of themed performances has been curated to provide residents with a diverse experience of food, beverages, entertainment, and shopping.
In recent years, Lijin county in Dongying has concentrated on modernizing its traditional farming industry through the establishment of an industrial park dedicated to the Tan sheep. The core area, spanning 280 hectares, features a standardized meat sheep farming base with 400 high-standard sheep sheds, making it the largest of its kind in China.
The industrial park adopts a comprehensive development model, integrating breeding, feed processing, farming, waste treatment, slaughtering, processing, and cold chain logistics.
Running for eight days, the food culture festival aims to enhance the integration of culture and tourism, promote the local Tan sheep industry, and stimulate the growth of Lijin's nighttime economy.
