The city of Dongying in East China's Shandong province has been working to deepen the integration of intangible cultural heritage and tourism in order to promote rural vitalization.

On one hand, the city has been promoting intangible cultural heritage products and skills in scenic areas, enriching the tourism industry and extending the tourism consumption chain. On the other hand, it has leveraged the tourism boom to help preserve intangible cultural heritage, using the industry to promote the protection of local traditions and contribute to rural vitalization.

By identifying and tapping into the unique local intangible cultural heritage resources, Dongying has developed a range of cultural and tourism products, including "brush calligraphy", "intangible heritage gifts pack", and "woven reed handbags". These items have been showcased and sold at markets and fairs in the scenic area, which are popular among tourists.

Furthermore, the city has expanded its services, actively developing Yellow River cultural study tours with a focus on intangible cultural heritage. It has arranged for experts and scholars to create a variety of study programs centered on the inheritance of Yellow River culture, using intangible heritage as a gateway to understanding the cultural significance of the river.

Dongying has fully utilized traditional cultural resources to continuously promote the in-depth integration of intangible cultural heritage and tourism, allowing local residents to benefit from tourism at their doorstep and strengthening the systematic protection of the Yellow River's cultural heritage, ultimately contributing to rural vitalization.
