Shandong's artificial intelligence (AI) industry solidified its role as a key economic driver in 2025, with core industry revenue having exceeded 120 billion yuan ($17.27 billion), supported by 1,124 key enterprises.

Shandong made strategic breakthroughs in several critical areas. It leads China in the application of large AI models within specific industries, deploying 122 specialized models across all 31 major manufacturing categories. 

Intelligent computing infrastructure also saw a major leap, with its total capacity surpassing 23 EFLOPS, over half of which is dedicated to AI computing. 

Furthermore, the province is pioneering the future field of embodied AI, focusing on the development of humanoid robots and intelligent agents, with its robotics manufacturing scale now exceeding 32 billion yuan.

This growth is powered by deep integration in Shandong's industrial base. AI technologies are enhancing 5,657 digital-tech-driven factories and improving efficiency in sectors from healthcare to public administration. A collaborative ecosystem thrives, where leading firms support 108 innovative small and medium-sized enterprises. 

Regionally, Jinan and Qingdao serve as twin innovation cores, coordinating resources across the province.

Through systematic planning and robust policy support, Shandong is transitioning its industrial might into AI leadership, fostering a new paradigm of intelligent and high-quality economic development.
