For the most famous sea mirage viewing spot, Penglai in Yantai takes the lead. Known as a "fairyland" since ancient times, Penglai is famous for its frequent optical wonders. From the Penglai Pavilion, the distant Changshan Islands appear as if they are melting wax figures, their edges softening and flowing under the illusion.
