Youthful creativity shines at national ICH expo

The 8th China Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo kicked off in Jinan on Oct 17. One highlight of this year's expo, the youth intangible cultural heritage creative market, ran from Oct 17 to 21, and attracted enthusiasts and creators of intangible cultural heritage from across China.

The market had over 180 booths, featuring innovative works by intangible cultural heritage inheritors and students from more than 20 colleges and vocational schools specializing in intangible cultural heritage.

These young creators demonstrated a remarkable ability to blend traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, providing the diverse outcomes of intangible cultural heritage education and creative design.

Visitors were treated to an array of handicrafts, traditional-yet-modern accessories, and everyday items infused with intangible cultural heritage. The event not only inspired young students through the creativity of intangible cultural heritage but also benefited design in this field by revitalizing protection and innovation efforts for intangible cultural heritage.

Many attendees expressed their admiration for the unique exhibits, remarking that the fusion of traditional craftsmanship and modern design had breathed new life into intangible cultural heritage.
