The overseas economic zones, established by Shandong-based companies, play an important role in deepening cooperation between China and Hungary, while also benefitting collaboration between China and Central and Eastern European countries, according to Peto Erno, president of the Hungarian-Chinese Chamber of Economy.

Erno shared his view on Shandong's contribution to the bilateral cooperation between China and Hungary in economy and trade during an interview at the ongoing sixth China-CEEC Local Leaders' Meeting in Yantai, Shandong province on Oct 16. He also emphasized the potential for Shandong and Hungary to expand cooperation in e-commerce, logistics, and green energy.

The event, taking place at the Yantai Huang-Bohai Sea New Area from Oct 15 to 17, welcomes nearly 1,000 Chinese and foreign guests, many of whom are officials, experts, and diplomats from Central and Eastern European countries.

With the theme "China-CEEC Local Cooperation for the Future", the meeting highlighted the cooperation achievements since the inception of the China-CEEC cooperation mechanism in 2012, while also focusing on strengthening future collaboration.
