The list of the Amazing China – Most Attractive Chinese Cities for Foreigners was recently released, and the coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province, made the list for the thirteenth time, ranking seventh.

The rankings find the top 10 most attractive cities for foreign talent in China in 2023 were Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Suzhou, Shenzhen, Qingdao, Nanjing, Chengdu, and Xiamen.

The list has been evaluated since 2010 and is the only ranking of Chinese cities for talent attraction and intelligence that has been completely evaluated by foreign talents in China.

This year's list highlighted four main features, including maintaining the characteristics of city clusters, and the impact of economic openness, especially institutional openness. Ease of daily life was the most important factor for foreign talent when choosing a city, with cities like Qingdao and Chengdu having some of the best living environments.
