The Winning Team cargo ship unloaded 190,000 metric tons of bauxite from Guinea on Sept 2, and on its way back to Africa, it carried 17,000 tons of engineering vehicles and building materials. This achievement marked a significant milestone for Yantai Port of Shangdong Port Group (SPG). The annual outbound cargo volume to Africa surpassed 2 million tons four months ahead of schedule, reaching an all-time high since the route's opening in 2015.

Yantai Port handles over 10 Africa-bound vessels monthly. The port's production and business department strategically allocates production resources, coordinates labor division among various port areas, and leverages its advantages for handling general cargo. Yantai Port maintains its status as the world's top importer of bauxite in handling over 100 million tons annually. This source of aluminum allows the port to be a key gateway for China's aluminum industry to be a global supplier.

The Yantai Port's Africa general cargo route connects over 20 countries in Africa, including Guinea, Tanzania, South Africa, and Namibia. With nearly 400 voyages of general cargo vessels to Africa moving nearly 8.4 million tons, the Yantai Port has solidified its position as China's top trading port with Africa.
