The 2024 International Gold Industry Development Conference took place from Aug 28 to 29 in Zhaoyuan, a county-level city in Yantai, Shandong province known as the "gold capital of China". The event brought together more than 1,000 gold experts and representatives of gold enterprises to explore new pathways of gold industry reformation led by new quality productive forces.

With the theme of "promoting high-quality development with new quality productive forces", the conference featured keynote sessions and roundtable forums where economists and key figures in the gold industry analyzed the latest gold market trends and predicted future market directions. These sessions aim to help companies in the gold industry seize opportunities, avoid potential market pitfalls, and inspire them with forward-looking, constructive and strategic perspectives.

In addition, the AI+ Mining Safety Conference kicked off on Aug 29, gathering academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, over 300 representatives from gold mines, and industry experts to explore innovative ways to apply AI technology in mine development. The Gold Mining Conference was also held on the same day, aiming to provide new perspectives and strategies for technological breakthroughs in the global gold mining industry.

In addition to the conferences, a series of activities showcasing Zhaoyuan's gold culture is in full swing from Aug 26 to 30. Various events, such as art performances, online promotions for gold mining, gold jewelry design competitions, and gold jewelry exhibitions attracted visitors and online audiences, offering them a deeper understanding of the development of China's gold mining industry.
