In Chiping district, Liaocheng, the Xinfa Modern Agriculture Industrial Farm has implemented a cutting-edge strawberry cultivation system featuring a three-dimensional planting model in its glasshouses. By leveraging smart greenhouses and big data, the farm has achieved year-round production of high-quality strawberries.

Meanwhile, Liaocheng has also been actively promoting the full-chain development of the gourd industry. From gene research and seed cultivation to cultural tourism and leisure, the city has created a comprehensive gourd industry ecosystem. In 2023, Dongchangfu district in Liaocheng generated a total economic output of 1.6 billion yuan ($220 million) from the gourd industry, accounting for 75 percent of the national market share.

In Liaocheng's Linqing, smart incubation chambers have been developed for cultivating sanghuang, a prized ingredient in traditional Chinese medicine and a high-value-added product of the mulberry industry. By simulating optimal growth conditions, the chambers enable year-round and stable production.

In Yucheng, Dezhou, the traditional soybean industry has undergone significant transformation. Through technological innovation, soybeans are now being processed into high-value products such as soy protein and functional foods.

By embracing technological advancements, promoting industrial upgrades, and fostering innovative partnerships, Dezhou and Liaocheng have successfully transformed their agricultural sectors. These efforts have not only increased agricultural productivity and farmers' incomes but have also contributed to rural vitalization.
