Shandong, South Korea deepen economic cooperation

The 7th Shandong-South Korea economic and trade cooperation conference was held in Jinan, East China's Shandong province, on Aug 20. The event brought together over 240 representatives from both countries, including officials from Shandong's provincial government and 16 cities and representatives of provincial enterprises, economic zones, and South Korean business associations.

Chen Fei, director of the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, delivered a keynote speech, outlining Shandong's cooperation plan with South Korea.

Representatives from Qingdao, Yantai, and Weihai showcased their respective cities' cooperation opportunities with South Korea in various sectors, including electronics, green energy, healthcare, and tourism.

South Korean delegates presented their perspectives on Sino-South Korean cooperation in green and low-carbon development, as well as strategies to address the global supply chain crisis.

Agreements for 24 key cooperation projects between Shandong and South Korea were signed, covering a wide range of industries such as new materials, information technology, auto parts, equipment manufacturing, and cross-border e-commerce. These projects represent a combined value of $400 million.
