Since 2018, Wang Chuanxi, Party secretary of Daicun, has led 26,000 farmers towards common prosperity in Daicun and 11 surrounding villages by boosting the integrated development of agriculture, commercial logistics, leisure tourism and living environment. In 2023, the collective income of Daicun reached 160 million yuan ($22.22 million).

Having been elected as a deputy to the 19th and 20th National Congresses of the Communist Party of China, Wang became a member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in 2023.
In May 2023, Wang investigated local conditions in regions such as Zhejiang and Liaoning provinces with a research team from the CPPCC National Committee's Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee and later took village cadres to study and participate in exchange activities in villages in Shanxi and Hebei provinces as well as Chongqing. At the subsequent special consultation meeting of the CPPCC National Committee, Wang proposed the construction of county-level "front-line command posts" and implementation of the rural "leading geese" project.
As a grassroots member of the CPC, Wang not only makes feasible suggestions based on rural realities, but also shares experiences and helps many villages alleviate poverty through tailored strategies according to local conditions.
At this year's national two sessions, Wang's focus remains on agriculture, rural areas and farmers, on which he has conducted in-depth research for nearly a year.
In Wang's view, work related to agriculture, rural areas and farmers concerns millions of families and is crucial for China's modernization.
"My proposal this year focuses on the integrated development of urban and rural areas and the strengthening of the collective economy in new rural areas," Wang said, making suggestions such as resolving land fragmentation and cultivating rural cadres with economic acumen, ultimately aiming to address the weakness of rural collective economies.
