Shandong municipal leaders unveil 2024 development visions

The Shandong Provincial People's Congress assembled on Jan 22 to attend the read of the report on the work of Shandong Provincial People's Government, part of annual two sessions that sets Shandong's developmental path in 2024.  

After the release of the report, leaders from cities across Shandong outlined their strategic visions for the year 2024 when joining in the deliberations of the delegation from their respective cities.

Jinan's Party Secretary, Liu Qiang, emphasizes the deepening implementation of projects. This initiative focuses on advancing projects in key sectors, enhancing technological innovation, and fortifying the city's position in the modern industrial landscape.

In Yantai, Party Secretary Jiang Cheng sees 2024 as a pivotal year to embrace the city's new role as the third city whose annual GDP has surpassed 1 trillion yuan  ($141.17 billion) in the province. The city aims to become a central hub in the Bohai Sea area, focusing on green, low-carbon, and high-quality development.

Weifang, led by Party Secretary Liu Yun, strives to be a pioneer in green, low-carbon, high-quality development, contributing significantly to the province's advancement.

Yang Guoqiang, Party secretary of Dongying, pledges to lead in implementing national strategies, emphasizing ecological protection, industrial growth, and energy transformation.

Zibo's Party Secretary, Ma Xiaolei, highlights a commitment to its own development goals, aiming to contribute more to building a modern, strong, and prosperous city.

Yan Jianbo, Party secretary of Weihai, expresses determination to promote the construction of an exquisite and happy city and contribute to Shandong's development.

In Linyi, the city's Party secretary Ren Gang calls for benchmarking against advanced cities, focusing on industry, projects, and people's well-being.

Li Zaiwu, Party secretary of Rizhao, aims to add splendor to Shandong's modernization through regional strength, emphasizing industrial growth, port-city integration, and technological innovation.

Zhang Lun, Party secretary of Heze, in the context of developing western Shandong area, aims to make crucial contributions to the province's development.

These succinct visions collectively underscore Shandong's commitment to innovation, green development, and high-quality growth in 2024.
